THE
INTRODUCTION OF THE COMPANY
Metro Shipping Agency Ltd Co was set up in 1996 and has been providing
all kinds of agency services for ships calling at Turkish Ports and
passing Turkish Straits in transit.
Transit and Port Agency activities at Haydarpasa port, Ports of Izmit
Bay and Kumport are provided by the company's own staff through its
head office located in the Asian side of Istanbul at 5 minutes walking
distance to the port of Haydarpasa. The services at other Turkish ports
are provided by contractual local agents all enjoying their powerful
positions in their areas.
The company's managing directors and all employees have respectively
established international relationships through their long experiences
in international shipping arena and they are all well trained and sufficiently
equipped for the services committed. The managing directors of the company
have in addition long sea-going experience that enables them have a
good understanding of the requirements for a smooth shipping operations
and what a ship master or operator would expect from their agent in
ports.
In addition to the transit passage agency services, the company's activities
are mostly concentrated in handling of various iron and steel products,
metals like coppers and aluminium ingots and T-Bars, grains and various
minerals and ore, timber products and fertilizers. However the company
is also highly active and self confident in providing consultancy services
to its clients, represents them and acts on their behalf in ports, provides
them storage and inland transportation and stevedoring and tallying
services.
All activities and operations of the company are carried out through
carefully organized and established procedures in order to ensure the
efficiency of the service.
